Antarctica is like no place on earth. I boarded a ship in Ushuaia pointed south. There was no set itinerary. The captain and the expedition leader would decide along the way. Our goal? To head as far south as we could in the time alotted.

Ever since I first heard Youssou N’Dour on Peter Gabriel’s song “In Your Eyes,” I’ve been wanting to visit Dakar. Having the opportunity to explore even more of the country was an added bonus.

My nephew was graduating from college and my parents and I went to Colorado for the ceremony. While there my mom wanted to visit the Four Corners. I suggested we make a bigger trip out of it.

Having visited El Chalten and El Calafate in Argentina the year before, I decided I wanted to visit Torres del Paine in Chile. Happily, My cousin and niece decided to come along so I wouldn’t have to hike alone.

I never thought I’d actually make it to Rapa Nui. It’s so far and the tickets are usually so expensive. But when I found a deal from Santiago right when the island was reopening after COVID, I knew I had to sieze my chance.

Oh my first trip to Patagonia I chose to stay in Argentina, visiting the towns of El Calafate and El Chalten and doing day hikes from each.

The trip that really started my nomad life, I booked this after my first African safari. After seeing what COVID did to the world I decided to start YOLOing life. After all, you never know when the next pandemic is going to hit.

For my first African safari I chose the classics, the greatest hits, starting in Kenya and then heading to Tanzania. It was nothing short of incredible.
